Maybe six months from now, I'll have more information to add.
I usually take two 3/mg tablets a night at bedtime. Sometimes I'll take three tablets for fun, and so far the only negative side effect I've had is an exaggerated grogginess for the first few minutes in the morning. This is nothing extreme, just a little more than usual. I can sleep fine without taking it, unlike most sleeping pills - not that I ever take sleeping pills. About 15 minutes after taking the pills, I'll feel slightly tired, but if something happens, I have no problem staying up for a couple hours and don't even realize I've taken it after a while. It seems to gently help you into sleep when the time comes.
Melatonin is easily available online or at your local drug/nutrition/health store. Botanic Choice seems to be a good online place where you can buy melatonin online for a reasonable price, though they only ship to U.S. addresses. Check out the Scientific Facts under the Melatonin section if you want to find out more possible side effects in the limited number of studies that have been done. Also, remember to use your own judgment or that of your doctor if you feel you'd like to try it.
